Amit Sahni is a Law Graduate from University of Delhi and has been practicing in various fields of law especially Criminal Law and on Social Issues. He has represented Govt. of Punjab as Astt. Advocate General. He has been representing various high profile persons including Former Chief Minister OP Chautala and his family members including several MLAs and MPs. He has also represented for and against Bureaucrats and Judicial Officers. He was Counsel for Sushil Sharma (Tandoor Kand/Naina Sahni Murder Case) and Manu Sharma (Jessica Lal Murder Case) and tirelessly yet instrumental in their premature release from prison.

He has been incessantly fighting against injustice regardless its offshoot by filing Public Interest Litigations (PILs) before High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court of India. He has been working for social reforms in different segments of society including rights of prisoners and jail reforms. Courts have issued significant directions in numerous petitions filed by Amit Sahni viz. appointment of law officer in every jail, to convene meetings of Sentence Review Board (SRB) periodically, for providing basic amenities at Eastern/Western Peripheral Way etc.

The RBI had taken momentous step pursuant to a PIL filed by Amit Sahni and had issued a notification thereby directing the vendors not to burden consumers/customers with surcharge on transactions with debit cards.

He had also preferred petition before Delhi High Court and Supreme Court against the Shaheen Bagh – Kalindi Kunj Road Blockade by group of persons protesting against The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and The National Register of Citizens (NRC).
